myPhonak Customer Insights

1. You would think with all the bad reviews your company would actually fix the app.I love being able to control the sound effects and environment and all that with my hearing aids but they're still cool but one thing that really makes me mad it that every time there is a notification while I'm in the middle of changing program it resets it back to what it was why the hell did you do this scrap? I get lot of notifications and everytime I try to change the programming I have to redo several times because of all the damn notification interrupting stupid people!!!Very rarely works at all since the last update.

2. It doesn't function properly and makes it impractical for me to wear for work or social settings were I need it.At least five times in two years the hearing aid disconnected from the phone and it took several reboots and uninstall and re installs of the app to make things work properly.

3. Listening to anything via Bluetooth has a terrible amount of white noise, if I so much touch my ear my phone opens Bixby, there are times I dont want the aids on, turning off the sound only works until I need to text.

4. If I pair it for calls and audio streaming, then the functions in the app won't work because the app won't connect to the hearing aids even though I can see it's connected via Bluetooth.

5. If I have the volume turned all the way down for a noisy environment, it occasional ends up at almost full volume (when I'm wearing hearing protecting ear muffs).My new $5000 hearing aids do not control or reduce loud sudden noises.

6. I paid $3000 extra for the Bluetooth phone connection... I wasted my money.This app is such a miserable distraction from enjoying my $5,000 hearing aids.

7. It worked for a couple weeks, then wouldn't even connect to my hearing aids.

8. I go into my car and then the car connects to the phone and then I am able to connect the phone to the hearing aid.Very frustrated.

9. With the latest update now, it won't connect with hearing aids at all.

10. I repair turn off and turn on the hearing aids, clear cache, and on and on.

11. I highly recommend don't buy any phonak's hearing aids because of this garbage app.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix myPhonak Issues

1. Fix myPhonak Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart myPhonak: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the myPhonak App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "myPhonak" » Open myPhonak » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for myPhonak » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear myPhonak app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from myPhonak servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "myPhonak" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check myPhonak app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, myPhonak might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall myPhonak. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall myPhonak then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing myPhonak not working


2. Fix myPhonak Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make myPhonak be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to myPhonak not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, myPhonak may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
