The first time I tried it said it didn't identify any language for me, but all the other times it worked like it had detected something, so I can't figure out why it's not translating anything.The translation is very vague, so don't expect a very grammatically correct translation BUT it is handy if you want to know the general meaning behind a sentence.

9. The ads aside, I'm pleasantly surprised by how well this works even with taking a pic of Japanese text, even when it's written vertically.

1. Fix Camera Translator Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Camera Translator: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Camera Translator App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Camera Translator" » Open Camera Translator: Photo, OCR » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Camera Translator » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Camera Translator: Photo, OCR app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Camera Translator servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Camera Translator: Photo, OCR" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Camera Translator app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Camera Translator might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Camera Translator. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Camera Translator then reinstall.
