Hue Pro Customer Insights

1. I really recommend this app instead of the orig Hue app!Hasn't been updated since 2017!!!!! Sick and tired of the light lock out when phone isn't active and screen on!!.. (have to keep phone screen on and app running to maintain light transitions)Okay, I love this app.

2. Save your money and look elsewhere as it seems the devs have stopped working on this app.I can control lights via their app but it doesn't seem to be responding to presets thru the tasker.

3. These small problems do not keep this from being the most versatile hue controller, but it would be nice if they were fixed.Latest update fully breaks the app once power was lost to the bridge.

4. I recently moved and set all my lights up again and started setting up animation presets again.

5. After spending awhile troubleshooting and checking permissions, I realized this app hasn't even been updated in almost 2 years.

6. Using the widgets you are able to directly change for instance the presets, colors and brightness.

7. I used the app to setup a widget on my home screen and use my phone as a remote for the lights in my house.

8. Has bug that mixes up lights in presets, causing the wrong lights to come on.

9. But now you have to have a notification on at all times for it to work, until you restart your phone, then the widgets don't work until you open the Hue pro app itself.

10. I bought a version 2 bridge but I can't get it to even find any of my lights.

11. Presets are stored locally by default, and stick around if you switch bridges which makes no sense.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Hue Pro Issues

1. Fix Hue Pro Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Hue Pro: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Hue Pro App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Hue Pro" » Open Hue Pro » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Hue Pro » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Hue Pro app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Hue Pro servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Hue Pro" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Hue Pro app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Hue Pro might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Hue Pro. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Hue Pro then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Hue Pro not working


2. Fix Hue Pro Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Hue Pro be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Hue Pro not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Hue Pro may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
