1. I constantly get connection errors when viewing any of the cameras, the entire app is buggy and crashes on both of my android phones and I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps, and not to mention the doorbell takes an entire 8+ seconds to load the live stream.

2. Thermostat scheduling interface is horrible.I love being able to arm/disarm remotely; it's so convenient! I also love having the ability to check our videos, "answer" the door remotely when the doorbell is rung, etc.

3. However, it drives me nuts that our doorbell camera records every little thing, and it's on the lowest setting! Its eaten up our video space many times and I'm already over 50% for the month of February.

4. Do not lock yourself into a contract with this company.The camera function doesn't seem to work half the time.the ios app is much better than the android app.

5. For about two weeks now everytime I click on the widget it takes me to the login page and not the video view.

6. Not very safe considering it's a monitored alarm system.Never had to access the app to view my video clips.

7. May have something to do with the last update for the Galaxy widgets Also, Guardian charges you everytime they have to come fix something NEVER falls under maintence repair ( no charge ).

8. The thermostat status takes too long to update and it constantly notifies me the battery is low, forcing me to turn off notifications.

9. If you are lucky enough to be reading my review before signing a contract with this company, beware.

10. Defective sensors and cheap doorbell camera.

11. Had their service for less than a year and they want to charge us $60 co pay to come out for a defective motion sensor.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Guardian Protection Issues

1. Fix Guardian Protection Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Guardian Protection: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Guardian Protection App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Guardian Protection" » Open Guardian Protection » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Guardian Protection » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Guardian Protection app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Guardian Protection servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Guardian Protection" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Guardian Protection app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Guardian Protection might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Guardian Protection. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Guardian Protection then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Guardian Protection not working


2. Fix Guardian Protection Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Guardian Protection be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Guardian Protection not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Guardian Protection may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
