AT&T Call Protect Customer Insights

1. If there were alternatives in terms of other apps that provide the same service, I would have gotten rid of the app, and AT&T Call Protect subscription.Every few weeks a screen pops up and says session has expired and wants me to re activate it via a code it sends in a text message.

2. By the time it shows on Caller ID, the phone stops ringing so then I have to go into the missed calls, find out who called and call back.

3. However, there's no reason why, like many other apps out there, that it cannot complete the task IN THE BACKGROUND while allowing the user to block/unblock existing numbers, etc.Almost works too well! My phone doesn't ring anywhere near like it did before installing.

4. At least I can get the free version of Hiya (the app's engine) from the play store though.Every month when the AT&T Call Protect renews, I end up with "Unable To Connect" error messages, which is very frustrating to experience monthly.

5. If AT&T fixes this problem, I will upgrade my rating.App looks great, seems to work great, and was pre-installed on my phone.

6. The only reason I give it 1 star is because when I enter my AT&T phone number to enroll, it shows a screen saying "not eligible." I have tried multiple times, but it always shows the same result.

7. Every time I try to report a spam call, I receive an error that the "system is unavailable" and I need to check my connection.

8. So all other calls will go straight to voice mail and the phone wont ring.

9. It takes 5 rings before the call finally shows up on my screen, then it goes to voicemail after the 5th ring so I miss EVERY SINGLE INCOMING CALL.

10. They simply need to set about fixing it.I liked this app and it has seemed to help with spam calls because it allows me to easily block numbers.

11. I suggestThis app has gotten a lot better now that I've had a chance 2 block so many phone calls.

Reported Issues

  • Call Protect stopped working after 9 months. When AT&T asked me to delete app and re-install it did two things: dumped all the phone numbers that I had manually blocked for the past 9 months and then it still didn't work. It kept telling me that they "were working on it" but that little round thingy just kept going and never stopped. Couldn't get into use the app and block phone numbers. So I deleted it and asked for a refund.
