PictureThis Customer Insights

1. I would love reminders for when it's time to do certain things to individual plants i have saved to "my garden"(prune, trim, thin, bring inside, etc)- it may be a feature that I just haven't seen yet.When you have 4 or 5 bars signal strength, this app is amazing.

2. Plants have useful info, most of which has been accurate except for that one plant (both plant ID & info about the plant it thought it was were incorrect).

3. They don't actually let you try the features like the expert one on one, so I have no clue if those even exist, but the auto diagnosis kept saying it failed, so I tried to contact them for technical support and it is an ai that gives you limited options to choose from.

4. This was very useful when the first ID was incorrect, but now you're forced to go with the first option or take different photos until the correct plant comes up.This is by far the best.

5. When the flaws are fixed, it will go from 3 to 5 stars.Waste of time and money! I meant to cancel before the free trial ended because the app only does 2/3 of what I needed and the 1/3 it doesn't is probably the most important.

6. I've only used it for 3 birds & all 3 results were accurate.Love this app! Every feature has been helpful.

7. Out of maybe 15 plants, all but 1 plant ID has been correct so far.

8. The plant identification accuracy has been 100%.

9. The bad: every time I launch the app it starts with a full page "upgrade to premium" ad that's very easy to accidentally do thanks to button placement on the ad.I absolutely LOVE this app.

10. EDIT: do not purchase the ask an expert is fake.Loved this app until recently, as it gives pretty accurate ids, plus extra information, pretty much anything you could expect from a quick snap.

11. However, after the recent update, there are no longer possible options to choose from of what the plant could be.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix PictureThis Issues

1. Fix PictureThis Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart PictureThis: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the PictureThis App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "PictureThis" » Open PictureThis - Plant Identifier » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for PictureThis » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear PictureThis - Plant Identifier app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from PictureThis servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "PictureThis - Plant Identifier" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check PictureThis app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, PictureThis might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall PictureThis. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall PictureThis then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing PictureThis not working


2. Fix PictureThis Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make PictureThis be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to PictureThis not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, PictureThis may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I had to get a new phone and there was no way to sign in and transfer my old account to the new one, so I had to buy a new subscription. Please cancel the new subscription (I had recently paid another year on the old phone) and refund me the money and tell me how to log into my old subscription. ASAP. I’m not impressed with the fact that there is no way to log in with a new phone, not any way to contact you on the app. Other than that I love the app and would like my old saved plants back please

  • I signed up with this app on November 2020 to identify plants but it’s always out of signal so I can’t identify them so it is useless. I contacted Apple back then to cancel and I did cancel on my end but for some reason it still renewed last November. I would like to get a refund. Thank you.

  • I was having trouble with my iPhone, and the AT&T helper told me to delete my app PictureThis and I wouldn’t lose anything because I couldn’t seem to load this app after my phone was fixed. When I went to bring the app back up it didn’t show me having made a payment for a one year subscription. I did make this payment and I am not sure when it’s due for the next year please help me bring this app back on my phone and know when my next yearly payment is due thank you so much.   • I subscribe to the Picture this app on my IPhone. My subscription renews on April 7, 2022. I use the app frequently; however tried to launch the app yesterday and today, but when I try to open it, the app starts to load, then immediately closes. I rebooted my phone, and it still won’t load. I then deleted the app and reinstalled it and am experiencing the same problem. Can you help?

    Hello. I enrolled to the free trial of Picture this. I enrolled on October 3oth & cancelled on November 7, 2021. My debit card (ending in 4444) was charged $29.99. The App stated that a reminder is sent out to cancel before the trial period ends bit I didn't receive it.
    I realize I was one day late cancelling my subscription but am asking that my debit card be refunded the $29.99 monthly charge. I won't be using the app. My cell number is 719- 360-8107. Please get back to me on this matter.

  • I paid for a subscription to plant identifier, and thought i cancelled it. I then deleted the app. My subscriptions show that it is active only I cannot reinstall the app, or cancel it through my subscriptions.   • Hi, in error I have subscribed to Picture This Platinum for 1 year from 19th September 2021. I have just been charged £48.99. I did not realize that I had subscribed to the Platinum service for one year and I am unable to afford this amount of money.   • Hello. Earlier today, while with my young son, we were exploring the "Picture This" app from the App store. After a few quick clicks, I was guided directly to the premium version of the app and was charged $29.99 for a subscription. I would kindly ask that this money be refunded, as I do not want this product. I would be happy to pay the $2.99 for the one week Gold option if a full refund can not be awarded.

  • Really unhappy I canceled my FREE trial in the timeframe of a week and was charged anyway looked at customer comments looks like a really common problem what a joke The unexpected debit put my account into a negative balance that will cost me 30$ and then when I tried to do a live chat they asked me if my account information was the same and then informed me they were going to charge me a fully refundable $1 to talk to somebody and then when I tried to tell them No the set up went down and right now I am so mad if this free trial ends up costing me 80$ I think I might blow up
