1. And as I have a bus pass that can travel free off-peak on local trains, I find it so easy to find the information I need to book from the boundaries of my county area by showing all the train stops.
2. - if the app knows your outward journey time why not get it to default to your return ticket once this has passed by say 30 mins?Poor by modern standards, lacking in good design and accessibility features.
3. Reasonably reliable, although have a couple of suggestions that would make it more user friendly: - Most people take the same journey 95% of the time - why not make a quick button to buy the most common ticket? This takes too much effort currently.
4. The "report a fault" button just takes you to the Northern website... so I suppose I'm reporting it here?Constant technical issues means it won't allow me to top up my smart card online.
5. Unable to book tickets as payment doesn't work on either credit card, Google pay or PayPal.
6. EDIT: dropped to 4 stars because "Change your journey" just doesn't work at all; it just gives a blank screen, down a star until fixedStill not working.
7. I keep trying to apply to refund my tickets to be met with a rather annoying 'Oops, We're usually great at getting you from A to B, but we haven't quite got it this time.
8. Would recommend walking or getting the bus over using this app, even for longer journeys.If people had any choice in this part of the country they wouldn't be choosing Northern.
9. App experience almost as frustrating as trying to use train services themselves.Far faster and more responsive than the website, and the app is pretty easy to use and to navigate around.
10. We ended up booking a TFW train instead.Excellent, unlike other operators you give so much more information about platform numbers etc.
11. The app works but it's for awful trains so who cares?The app itself is very good but... Ok I will review what I'm meant to, so quickly, the app is good it works and works well.
