Color Muse Customer Insights

1. (6) Need to be able to MOVE scans from history, instead of having to SAVE and then DELETE, especially when the scan color names are not very unique and hard to track.

2. Sunlight can fade paint over time, so I needed to scan my walls in several different places, then pick the color that came up more often.

3. (1) Need to be able to move, copy, delete scans in BATCH, to and from folders and scan history.

4. History is bugged , when I delete a sample, 50 more show up.The colors that my color snap select are often near perfect.

5. I navigated through different screens and it seems straightforward enough.I just bought the scan device (not even Color Muse) and downloaded the Color Muse app.

6. (5) Need to be able to rename colors in the scan history before saving to a folder.

7. Syncing of my scans and color palettes to the online cloud account does not work consistently.Using the latest software version (Dec 2020)... I had 5 cans of paints in the basement that looked almost the same to me.

8. (4) Need to be able to retroactively change the display features of scans in the history if you accidentally had the wrong filter specified when scanning.

9. Also please group scan history into (renamable) groups of trial, because scanning a wall can take multiple tries, with slightly different results.

10. Thanks!Terrible App : no way to delete more than one sample at a time, no way to combine same samples, scan button is in a pop up menu instead of being on the first screen.

11. The one time it picked a similar color it wound being correct when i turned the lights off.Really useful and nifty tool! But the software is super clunky.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Color Muse Issues

1. Fix Color Muse Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Color Muse: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Color Muse App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Color Muse" » Open Color Muse » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Color Muse » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Color Muse app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Color Muse servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Color Muse" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Color Muse app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Color Muse might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Color Muse. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Color Muse then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Color Muse not working


2. Fix Color Muse Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Color Muse be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Color Muse not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Color Muse may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
