Homey Customer Insights

1. How can any company even contemplate such a step backwards in user friendliness?!I love homey, but widgets stopped working in the last update.

2. Or an option to turn on one press, and not press and holdUseless - after update it is next to impossible to see if a tile is active/inactive unless you compare two that are in different states.

3. Need to keep manually pressing "retry" button to see the home page, devices page, especially when changing in and out of wifi.Fantastic home automation system.

4. Extremely slow, doesn't show all my devices, doesn't save the changed flows ( not always...) and a lots of other not correct working "things".

5. On the start page there is no possibility of showing the temperature for example you need to press the sensor and then you can see the value.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Homey Issues

1. Fix Homey Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Homey: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Homey App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Homey" » Open Homey — A better smart home » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Homey » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Homey — A better smart home app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Homey servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Homey — A better smart home" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Homey app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Homey might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Homey. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Homey then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Homey not working


2. Fix Homey Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Homey be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Homey not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Homey may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
