Sign In Companion Customer Insights

1. Two days ago, it stopped auto signing me in/out, AND the option to manually sign in/out has disappeared!!! Is there any sign of it working properly soon, or do I just uninstall and forget it?!The latest release 17th April 23 has made it near impossible to use the floorplan to select a desk.

2. Why is that?No good at all - burns through battery life (apparently it was running for 5h20m today, even though I used it twice for 30 seconds at the very most), constantly monitors my location even though I have auto sign-in/out turned off, auto-sign-in didn't work anyway, and even when I manuallly signed in/out I was told that it wasn't properly synchronising with our attendance systems.

3. This is the only way I can tell you, you have an issue.Needs serious improvements: - the auto sign in/out does not work (worked 2 or 3 times the stopped doing it) - the ui is confusing and disorganised.

4. Still can't get a code and have to physically sign in instead of being able to use the app on my phone which works erratically .Since a recent update I am unable to book or view bookings.

5. - finally, no way to transfer the account to a new phone: you need to require a new activation code.I have been using the app for a while and it's great, but out of nowhere it stopped working (when i try to open I get the ligo for 2 seconds and then shuts down).

6. Can you sort the pan controls please and increase the map size to use more of the mobile screen.Frustrating. Sign out on Friday and 12 digit code needed 'to get started' on Monday when nothing changed on my phone - except the app apparently.

7. I'd like it to default the history to today though (or setting for it) as I find stacked days cluttered.The 25 April 2023 update has made the previously stable map function glitchy.

8. I wish I didn't have to use it.It does the job at signing you in and out for me, although, the fact that it is running in the background for no reason and draining battery at the speed of light is irritating.

9. No phone or app updates have taken place between the last time I used it and when it stopped working.

10. It's a tiny map also so this makes it hard to book a desk or parking space as I can't easily see what is free.

11. I wasn't being marked as present despite signing in and out as instructed and getting confirmation messages in the app.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Sign In Companion Issues

1. Fix Sign In Companion Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Sign In Companion: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Sign In Companion App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Sign In Companion" » Open Sign In Companion » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Sign In Companion » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Sign In Companion app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Sign In Companion servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Sign In Companion" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Sign In Companion app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Sign In Companion might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Sign In Companion. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Sign In Companion then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Sign In Companion not working


2. Fix Sign In Companion Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Sign In Companion be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Sign In Companion not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Sign In Companion may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
