1. There is a compatibility conflict that can prevent the addition of AT&T Secure Family Companion App to your child’s companion device if you have AT&T ActiveArmor Advanced Mobile Security running on the same companion device. 1. You wanted yours when you were our ageMy dad uses this app and my biggest problem is App tracking, possibly listens to the user through the microphone (which is creepy), tracks my location (which if my mom doesn't want to tell him where we are, he can use the app to see, which is also creepy), Locks your phone, like, What if its 9:00 PM and your phone is locked And you are kidnapped and you have your phone on you? That is very dangerous, And can access your email info, which can lead to identity theft, And that's all I found. It's dehumanizing, get rid of the app features and limit the internet features.
2. It's horrid and after a while it's made my phone lag and I can't click on things properly,my phone freezesjust in case anyone has this and doesn't know how to turn it off, you can go into settings and turn off the permissions and also just download a free VPN and it should be able to override it, if your parents go though your apps you can also get an app hider that will just look like a calculator or something, it's a lot of work but it can be worth it compared to having strict parents.
3. I hope if you have this problem, you try to use a free VPN to "override" the app.Honestly this is terrible I could see the location but being able to turn off internet? And your phone runs so much slower but when I'm not connected it runs perfectly fine.
4. But when I run the app I can't press the button on the lower screen to continue because the button sits just off the bottom of the screen where I can't touch it... and two other links on the screen look to be out of place and crumpled up above that button i'm trying to press...I have these AT&T Secure Family apps on other phones and they work ok...can we get this fixed really quick? Thanks :)Difficult to use, even as a parent.
5. Now, all that I have is a notification on the top of my screen telling me that my phone is connected to the VPN, a notification I cannot remove.I tried deleting the app, but it said it was unsuccessful.
6. it always says the other phones paired aren't currently showing their location so it doesn't even serve it's purpose.
7. I can't even get it off of my phone, and every time I try, it shuts off my phone, and closes all of the apps that were open.
8. Obviously there's some exceptions, but you can't just let parents completely do what they want just because they hear ridiculous excuses for your kids NOT to use social media, media that let's them communicate.
9. I haven't really noticed any other problems other than my wifi slowing down when I am connected.
10. Also, once you've paired your phone there is no way to get the app off of your device.
11. You need to understand that parents need their kids to LEARN themselves.
