HyreCar Driver Customer Insights

1. Complete waste of time!The worst experience! They charged me $99 three times! Without even renting a car... My guess is, when you request a trip with each car, when the person tries to accept your rental request they charge a $99 deposit; for every renter that tried to accept your request... Which is stupid because the $99 deposit is included in your trip fee.

2. Filters that keep resetting, inaccurate car names and photos, locations that reset when you refresh the page, sorting doesn't work, and the map zooms to max view when selecting a car... Quite frankly, this is impressively bad app design and UX.

3. I tried different lighting, WiFi, different phones and either the app wasn't able to "verify image quality" and I mean wasn't were able to or the app just crashed and would reopen only to crash again.

4. So, after nearly half the day spent on it, I finally was able to apply.This is one of the worst customer service based aps that I have tried to use.

5. And they did contact t me by phone, a live person, but in the end I had to have more documentation than a normal rental company.App is a buggy mess, almost impossible to use.

6. Unable to resolve issues after two weeks trying.App appears to be simple and straightforward but it took me 6 hours to take a simple pic of my driver's license and then another 4 for a selfie.

7. They extended my rental and charged $71 extra, and they did not return my $99 deposit.

8. Totally unnecessary that they give the option to sign up using your Google account, but won't give the option of using a password, therefore you cannot sign in the app.

9. I want my $99 the three times I was charged.HORRIBLE!! DO NOT RENT! Pickup and rental were seamless.

10. You can't upload any photos to the app, only from the camera which is STUPID because documents are more efficient and solve a multitude of problems that photos can provide.

11. I finally realized I was able to apply online from pre-existing pix on my phone.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix HyreCar Driver Issues

1. Fix HyreCar Driver Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart HyreCar Driver: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the HyreCar Driver App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "HyreCar Driver" » Open HyreCar Driver - Gig Rentals » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for HyreCar Driver » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear HyreCar Driver - Gig Rentals app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from HyreCar Driver servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "HyreCar Driver - Gig Rentals" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check HyreCar Driver app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, HyreCar Driver might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall HyreCar Driver. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall HyreCar Driver then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing HyreCar Driver not working


2. Fix HyreCar Driver Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make HyreCar Driver be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to HyreCar Driver not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, HyreCar Driver may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

Also, I understand that under the GDPR law, I do not need to provide a reason for my request. Non-compliance to this request, a penalty of 4% of annual turnover under GDPR may result.
