1. On my Android phone, there's supposed to be a bus moving across the screen when I show it to the driver, but it doesn't appear.

2. The only hope to get it to work is to reboot your phone and even then the chances aren't great it's going to work.Useless, as it does not actually have a map with routes and so forth IN THE APP.

3. But when the driver doesn't see a moving bus, they hesitate to let me on and I have to show them the apps home screen and so on.

4. Save yourself the headache and just dont use this app ever.I put a battery saver on my phone to make sure my phone last me all day.

5. It's cool cause you can use your debit or credit card to buy your tickets, you can't do this anywhere else but at the Via metro center so that's convenient.

6. The only thing I've found that I don't like is that tickets you just bought on your account won't transfer to a different device even if you log into your account from it.

7. Via is really good at a ton of stuff, but their info collecting(for the customer /rider) systems suuuuuuuccccckkkkkssss donkey balls.

8. This is very frustrating and I have tickets qued up on the app that I can't access which is wasting my hard earned money!Worse app I've ever used.

9. However my biggest issue is that I keep getting kicked out of that app any time I try to use it as of late and that is a serious inconvenience.

10. I keep getting a notification saying my app is locked and it won't let me sign into my account.

11. Don't bother, just try to make use of google maps... All this is, is just a stupid attempt to set up payment methodology and what not.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix VIA go Issues

1. Fix VIA go Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart VIA go: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the VIA go App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "VIA go" » Open VIA goMobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for VIA go » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear VIA goMobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from VIA go servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "VIA goMobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check VIA go app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, VIA go might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall VIA go. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall VIA go then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing VIA go not working


2. Fix VIA go Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make VIA go be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to VIA go not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, VIA go may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
