What users are saying

1. This little bug is enough to drive me insane, why make it impossible for someone to exit a video without spending an entire minute trying? Also, why do the thumbnails appear in random order and size? So confusing to use, and you have to look at itty bitty thumbnails scattered.Works great! You can save pictures and videos but I keep waiting to lose all my pictures when they ask it start paying.

2. That should be an option somehow, and not a standard because it might be nice to some people, but not all.Been using it for years now, it is fantastic! Discreet looking icon, pin protected, and when the wrong pin is put in it takes a picture with the selfie camera to catch whoever did it, then creates a folder labelled "mugshots" and stores them there so you can see who was trying to access the app! It's simple and easy to navigate, and stores everything for years.

3. App works as expected on the phone, but when I connect phone to my windows computer and browse phone contents (Documents/Vaulty folder), the contents (images etc) can be plainly viewed as normal files.

4. Using the app is fine, and it works fine on phone, hence 2 stars, but for true security, it fails (easily defeated).I downloaded this app 10 years ago and it was amazing.

5. I uninstalled it and went with a better vault app.It works exactly like it should, and if people are losing videos and pics, it's a phone, SD card issue, not the app.

6. While in the app, the screen will randomly start to flicker black, app crashes, then my phone goes black, after that phone locks up and kicks me to my home screen.

7. However, all this really does is hide the videos and pictures from being listed in the Gallery, but anybody who wants to can have access to your videos with no additional effort, and your photos with only a minor bit of effort.

8. You cannot start a slideshow by waiting 5 seconds or watching a 30 second ad; you HAVE to subscribe for $9.99 a month in order to do so.

9. There was a bug that would persistently display the "Item deleted" prompt when a file was deleted (you had to restart the app to get it to go away) but this has been fixed in the current version.

10. Be warned: find another app to use, this is the beginning of the end.Okay, thought this was good at first, but it is almost impossible to exit out of watching a video inside this thing.

11. If you are using an external player it should just launch it when you tap the video, no need to go to a new screen then hit play.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Vaulty Issues

1. Fix Vaulty Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart Vaulty: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Vaulty App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Vaulty" » Open Vaulty: Hide Pictures & Videos » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Vaulty » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Vaulty: Hide Pictures & Videos app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Vaulty servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Vaulty: Hide Pictures & Videos" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Vaulty app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Vaulty might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Vaulty. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Vaulty then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Vaulty not working

2. Fix Vaulty Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Vaulty be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Vaulty not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Vaulty may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
