About My Anchor Watch

1. After the Anchor has been set, you can close the User Interface screen, letting MAW continue running in the background - while you use your Android for other Purposes.

2. If you want MAW to send SMS Messages, however, you need access to the Phone Network. (*) NOTE that sending and reception of SMSs will NOT work on Tablets without a SIM card.

3. The battery is conserved by having the app running in the background, and by letting the user optionally configure a slow (selectable) GPS Update Rate.

4. "My Anchor Watch" (MAW) is one of the Best and most Reliable Safety Tools of its kind for Sailors and Yachters.

5. When your boat exceeds the Drift Limit - or enters the optional Alarm Sector - or the GPS Fails, an Alarm is activated.

6. MAW makes sure that you are alerted if the anchor fails to hold, and starts dragging.

1. - On this version, the 10 second GPS cycle o p tion did not seem to work, or the screen did not change for long periods of time.out of all the anchor watch software out there....I did look at everything I could find on Google play.....this one is exactly what someone with a boat in the water wants.

2. Easy on the battery and good insurance when at anchor.Powerful, but to get the best performance read the help file, understand it, select your settings, and test at home before using.

3. Very easy to use for basics while learning all the perks! Had to get used to the GPS accuracy alarm but once I did, it is GREAT! We love the call another phone feature.

4. And strangely, the app reports current status as bearing and range from the anchor to the boat, not boat towards anchor.It works! Downloaded the app and dropped the anchor.

5. As an aside, I'm impressed with the advanced features and the incredibly clear and complete instructions.We are using the app right now at anchor in Puget Sound, Washington.

6. Easy and straightforward to startup it monitors movement perfectly and alllows you to set parameters for notifications including status updates by sms, phone and email ! Great app .

7. Latest update just is not working on any of our phones (3 androids ranging from 8-2 years old)I use the previous Pro version, and it is great.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix My Anchor Watch Issues

1. Fix My Anchor Watch Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart My Anchor Watch: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the My Anchor Watch App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "My Anchor Watch" » Open My Anchor Watch » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for My Anchor Watch » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear My Anchor Watch app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from My Anchor Watch servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "My Anchor Watch" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check My Anchor Watch app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, My Anchor Watch might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall My Anchor Watch. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall My Anchor Watch then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing My Anchor Watch not working


2. Fix My Anchor Watch Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make My Anchor Watch be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to My Anchor Watch not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, My Anchor Watch may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
