Also, I have shopped a few times via the click-through function, but have never received any points for the purchases I made.The app makes accessing most components of my MyPoints account easier, but its major flaw is that if I start a survey on the app and accidentally click one of the other links on the app when I'm in the middle of the survey, I end up leaving the survey and not being able to get back to it.

2. It's just become a huge pain to use the app since it doesn't work half the time.Great app, Ive been a member of MyPoints for almost 10 years now, and I have redeemed my points several times for gift cards to some of my favorite retailers.

3. In order to upload receipts to MyPoints, I have to go do it through the website, which is a little annoying when it could've easier just doing it through the app.I would give this useless app ZERO stars if I could because its suppose to be a shopping rewards app, but it always emphasizes surveys.

4. And you can't really do the extra stuff on it, like bingo or the 7-day challenge and you can't upload receipts through it, so it's mostly for surveys and points perks.I'm hesitant to download this a fourth time.

5. I've lost out on so many points it's ridiculous and annoying, especially since I've told lots of people about MyPoints over the years.Update: The MyPoints app is working as expected after the most recent (Feb 2020) update.

6. Every time I open the app it quickly switches tabs to those awful surveys! I don't waste my time doing surveys, besides most of the garbage they give you, they'll never pay out.

7. When shopping, if you hit the back button it takes you back to the mypoints app instead of the previous page you were on on the retailer's site, so you have to start over.

8. Also, the "Content Discovery" tab under "Earn points from Discover" no longer works on the app and the point reward has been reduced from 3 to 1.

9. As a result, the app ultimately causes more problems than it solves.Despite all of the updates, nothing was done about the broken video links in surveys, which then leads to disqualification.

10. I do still hate the problem with accidental pushing of buttons when trying to hit continue on surveys and it kicks you to new page.

11. It works well though the zoom in bar on the bottom of the screen never goes away, something which probably won't bother others but I find very annoying.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix MyPoints Issues

1. Fix MyPoints Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart MyPoints: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the MyPoints App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "MyPoints" » Open MyPoints Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for MyPoints » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear MyPoints Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from MyPoints servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "MyPoints Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check MyPoints app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, MyPoints might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall MyPoints. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall MyPoints then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing MyPoints not working


2. Fix MyPoints Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make MyPoints be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to MyPoints not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, MyPoints may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
