1. Updated to work with all solar eclipses from the year -1999 to +3000 using data from the Five Millennium Canon of Solar Eclipses.
2. The black line represents the center line of the eclipse, and the two red lines indicate the edges of totality.
3. See the path of any solar eclipse across the map, and get precise timing information about all aspects of the eclipse.
4. Including totality time, exact times for the start and end of totality, and exact times for the start and end of partial phases.
5. Just scroll around the map and put the cross hairs on the location you're interested in, and the times for the eclipse are calculated automatically.
6. This app does not yet display the visibility regions for partial eclipses, but will soon.
7. Next total eclipses are Argentina/Chile in 2019, again in Argentina/Chile in 2020.
8. I hope to add more features, including weather and countdown timers before the Aug 21 eclipse, so check back.
1. It would also be nice if the selected eclipse date were displayed on the map along with the other data. Not working for me in India there is lunar eclipse scheduled today but app shows no eclipseWhen map opens it say 'no eclipse',even though an eclipse path is shown off screen for todays event.
2. It would be more helpful if it said 'outside eclipse shadow zone' or similar or even, next eclipse will occur in ##region on ##date or maybe open showing next eclipse in its region with next date? Was able to plan for star parties with this appThank you for creating this app.
3. Currently the app is advertisement-free (excellent) but the eclipse-track plotting seems to have significant bug(s) when processing locations that include the polar regions (hence only 4-star rating) - for example total eclipse of 4 Dec 2021.
4. Very good app, which allows selection of solar eclipse of interest, and displays the path on a (Google?) map.
5. Now I can plan years in advance for the 2024 April 8 eclipseFunThank you, Greg.
6. Completely intuitive.Excellent. Lets you zoom in on an exact location in the USA so you can position yourself on that day.
7. This was great! And it impressed a few of my co-workers.
8. :)Perfect.
