SleepMapper Customer Insights

1. This is just an app to set up your Philips device with the phone and it doesn't work very well beyond that.The app is super convenient for turning on lamp from other room for a low light transition from one room to your bedroom.

2. I have tried hard resetting the headband several times, it connects for a day then I have the connectivity issues all over again.Well it worked on for a while but it stopped connecting to the light over a year ago in the fall of 2020 after an update.

3. The lamp goes all the way dark to the brightest start of whatever you have your Sunset dialed to.Unless you have an iPhone laying around don't bother, return the alarm clock.

4. I can't uninstall the app because I need it in order to use this $200 alarm clock, but I can't exactly go to sleep with my phone buzzing every 5 seconds!!!Literally unusable.

5. But when I use an iPhone 8 it works in seconds.The notification "Get ready It's time to go to bed to get a full night of sleep 🔔" infinitely loops when it's 30 minutes before I need to go to sleep.

6. Keeps telling me the password is wrong, but I've confirmed this information to be correct, confirmed that my phone is connected to the same wifi, and it's the wifi I'm currently streaming video on so I know the wifi is working.

7. Secondly, now that it's gotten brighter, I can tell that the alarm is dependent on the light in the room rather than the half an hour set for the alarm to actually go off at all.

8. I tried a new router, a new phone, dozens of reboots and resets, countless emails with Phillips and they can't make it work.

9. Room for improvement: sometimes it doesn't connect to lamp right away and I have to close all my other apps down before it will connect.

10. Since having it for a few months, it has refused to log me into my account, I had to factory reset the light 3 times because it randomly decided to forget it, and even when it works it's very slow.

11. The sunrise starts, but the alarm now always wakes me up later than it's supposed to, which is a problem for an ALARMCan't connect after resetting.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix SleepMapper Issues

1. Fix SleepMapper Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart SleepMapper: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the SleepMapper App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SleepMapper" » Open SleepMapper » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SleepMapper » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear SleepMapper app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SleepMapper servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SleepMapper" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check SleepMapper app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SleepMapper might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall SleepMapper. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SleepMapper then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SleepMapper not working


2. Fix SleepMapper Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SleepMapper be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SleepMapper not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SleepMapper may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
