1. Can Devs suggest a work around? Or let us know when and how we can sign in? Will this app be supported going forward? Last update is 6mos ago?My remote stoped working, thought I would use the app instead, very disappointed, home button doesn't work, can't change the input source, info screen does nothing!Got connected and works but would like more information about permissions needed for Google account.

2. I'll check back on this at some point but I'm going to pretend this app doesn't even exist for the time being.The app wont even start on Optoma Cinemax Pro projector! Why does Google let Optoma partner with them? Google should have standards... and Optoma should be better than this.

3. Enjoy your $4000 projectorGarbage... I just got my Optoma CinemaX P2 today and thus App does nothing... So I'm stuck here with a screen that I can not adjust any other way but over thus App.

4. EDIT: changing rating from 1 to 5 Stars b/c I sent complaint to email provided by Optoma and they were quick to respond with a fix that worked fast.

5. I constantly get error popups when using remote mode, and when I try to use other functionality, it opens an app in the projector that literally says the install is complete and that I should exit that same application.

6. After projector is shut down it doesn't work again unless you reinstall it.

7. Hope the app continues to improveServer Error: There's a problem connecting with Optoma Server, please try again later.

8. What Idiot did the programming?Can't sign into Google to use the pictures in the info wall.

9. Developers please can you sort as I'd love to play around with this app.Some of the absolute worst software I have ever had the displeasure of using.

10. And since the App doesn't work I'm just stuck with how it is.

11. The verification email never arrives which therefore results in you not being able to proceed.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Optoma Connect Issues

1. Fix Optoma Connect Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Optoma Connect: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Optoma Connect App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Optoma Connect" » Open Optoma Connect » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Optoma Connect » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Optoma Connect app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Optoma Connect servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Optoma Connect" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Optoma Connect app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Optoma Connect might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Optoma Connect. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Optoma Connect then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Optoma Connect not working


2. Fix Optoma Connect Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Optoma Connect be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Optoma Connect not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Optoma Connect may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
