1. The GUI settings in the app to change the encoding bit rate doesn't fix the issue after it happens, and the web UI cannot fix it either, you are stuck needing a factory reset.There are many flaws in this software, but a pervasive clunkiness to its overall operationit (on my admittedly outdated phone) and ill-devised tool linkage clearly points to it not being thoroughly vetted by a competent testing team, but what can you expect for such a cheap-o camera? It does function, but its quirks make it a chore to use in any active situation.

The API is available so maybe it's time.Wonderful I think you have to have some experience in the world of setting up cameras it took a few systems of all kinds to really learn how to use or even set it up but by far amcrest was easier way easier to understand there's a lot that we don't understand yet....but. The one thing that is discouraging is the time it takes to get a response with email and can't get a hold of anybody by phoneI used to be able to remotely playback video.

3. Biggest thing is not being able to get into my camera quickly.No longer works properly with the Amcrest IPM-HX1, upon connecting the app causes the camera to change the encoding to 60,000 to 70,000 kbps.

4. Finally able to save MP4 videos.Sometimes the cameras get "hung up" or take a long time to load or respond to commands, but the video quality and night vision is really good.

5. Great for passive video capture in more safe areas which don't require intensive monitoring.Latest update 2/15/23 broke push notifications.

6. Not sure if this is a software issue from an update or a compatibility issue with the Samsung s22 Ultra's Android version.I have used this app for a couple of years and never had a problem.

7. Then it crashes too often, and if it does, sometimes all the cameras you added are gone because the only way to enter the app is to delete the cache and/or stored data.

8. Push notifications show 20 sec pre record and 40 sec of event and can't be changed, Randomly turns off notifications, fast forward freezes video.

9. The setup is super annoying and never works the first 10 tries, so just use the cable and save yourself the headache of a million wifi chimes that never connect.

10. Still useless.The camera hang on a loading screen til they timeout.

11. The speaker is nice & clear, but to listen at the same time creates crazy feedback.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Amcrest View Pro Issues

1. Fix Amcrest View Pro Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Amcrest View Pro: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Amcrest View Pro App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Amcrest View Pro" » Open Amcrest View Pro » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Amcrest View Pro » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Amcrest View Pro app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Amcrest View Pro servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Amcrest View Pro" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Amcrest View Pro app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Amcrest View Pro might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Amcrest View Pro. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Amcrest View Pro then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Amcrest View Pro not working


2. Fix Amcrest View Pro Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Amcrest View Pro be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Amcrest View Pro not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Amcrest View Pro may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
