Home Alerts Customer Insights

1. Removed it; will try the iOS version.Downloaded to PC to be able to keep nest cameras up at all times but it doesn't work on PC or Samsung Galaxy Note 8...I just get a white screen.

2. I'm not sure what this is for as there is no widget to put on my home screen.Worked for a few days, last 2 weeks all I get is white screen when I open the app.

3. Works fine on my iPad, just not my S8+Love being able to control my Nest, Sonos and myQ devices remotely.

5. Alerts via SMS is also very useful.Launches to a white screen on my Galaxy S9.

6. Won't even start up or load at first and 2nd, and 3rd log in 🤔 So update, other then the rude behavior as to the customer service not responding.

7. The "fixed" bug they explained in the paragraph above, is NOT fixed! You can't even open the damn app let alone start up.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Home Alerts Issues

1. Fix Home Alerts Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Home Alerts: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Home Alerts App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Home Alerts" » Open Home Alerts - Smart Security » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Home Alerts » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Home Alerts - Smart Security app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Home Alerts servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Home Alerts - Smart Security" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Home Alerts app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Home Alerts might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Home Alerts. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Home Alerts then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Home Alerts not working


2. Fix Home Alerts Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Home Alerts be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Home Alerts not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Home Alerts may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
