Marantz Hi-Fi Remote Customer Insights

1. I have to uninstall the app, power cycle my Marantz's, and then reinstall.Works fine on my M-CR611 which is connected by ethernet cable.

2. After I switched the CR611 to using a wired network connection with static IP, the app now mostly works quite well.

3. Marantz is excellent for sound quality but awfull for software, even on their sounds systems.

4. NO STARS!An utter embarrassment to Marantz, with such poor synchronisation that it often becomes useless.

5. 2023 Update: Still works well on Android 12! You just have to disable your VPN.For now the experience is not bad, seems to do the job.

6. This app was hopelessly useless and broken when my CR611 was connected to my wireless network.

7. Overall disappointed at the lack of quality of the app compared to the CR611 which I am very happy with.It's impossible to describe how awful this app is.

8. Trash! It works sometimes, and then it loses its mind! If I haven't used it for a couple weeks, it doesn't work.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Marantz Hi-Fi Remote Issues

  2. Update the Marantz Hi-Fi Remote App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Marantz Hi-Fi Remote" » Open Marantz Hi-Fi Remote » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Marantz Hi-Fi Remote » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Marantz Hi-Fi Remote app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Marantz Hi-Fi Remote servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Marantz Hi-Fi Remote" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Marantz Hi-Fi Remote app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Marantz Hi-Fi Remote might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Marantz Hi-Fi Remote. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Marantz Hi-Fi Remote then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Marantz Hi-Fi Remote not working

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Marantz Hi-Fi Remote be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Marantz Hi-Fi Remote not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Marantz Hi-Fi Remote may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
