Marco Polo Customer Insights

1. But currently I experience a bug that tech support hasn't been able to resolve for me where my videos will only play in privacy mode and the audio does not work unless I am tethered to Bluetooth.

2. It freezes the video stops and the audio keeps going, the audio and the video is not in sync, if you try to rewind or fast forward it stops, or it starts back over or just don't work.

3. I can't send videos, so until things get fixed, I can't even use the app anymore.6/23/23 Taking off another star since audio issues have gotten worse.

4. Audio handling is poor generally - the private mode is supposed to transfer audio to the earpiece when you put your phone to your ear, but will blast it at full volume for a second.

5. It has been really inconvenient and has lessened my use of the app as a result.I've had problems the past few months with the screen going black after a few minutes of recording.

6. I just turned the setting off, wasn't worth the constant pause- play -pause -playI like seeing and listening to friends and family.

7. But I like it a lot more than texting because you can see the faces and hear the voices which will substantially reduce misunderstandings and it's convenient that you can check on it when you want to, more so then you can a phone call and voicemail.

8. In the replay the video freezes and audio continues from the point out blacked out on me.

9. When I use "Privacy mode" it'll pause the video or flip to the settings screen.

10. If you use Android Auto, audio just doesn't work when you're connected.

11. But lately Marco polo cannot connect on my wifi and I have to use cell data.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Marco Polo Issues

1. Fix Marco Polo Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Marco Polo: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Marco Polo App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Marco Polo" » Open Marco Polo - Video Messenger » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Marco Polo » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Marco Polo - Video Messenger app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Marco Polo servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Marco Polo - Video Messenger" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Marco Polo app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Marco Polo might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Marco Polo. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Marco Polo then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Marco Polo not working


2. Fix Marco Polo Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Marco Polo be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Marco Polo not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Marco Polo may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • My Marco Polo app is having trouble verifying my email address and it crashes on Android 12 , claiming that it needs an update to work and launch properly. Contact the developer for support to address this issue. I think that once the email verification issue is resolved, then the should work properly. It works fine on Android versions 4,6,8 and probably 7. My 7 version has battery problems but it does work with a external battery., The 12 is the one with the email problem.
