Ear Scout Customer Insights

1. I think it would be great if it would not create another sound after a sound such as walking in the leaves sounds like you're hitting a tin roof and a lot of things sound like is short whisper and I don't know about anybody else but I hear the word s*** a lot but I know this not being said LOLOK for noise, NOT for voices.

To get past the "request to pay" look for a "no thanks" or something like it to clickSeems like it works pretty well and I don't know if it is my phone or if it is the app but whenever I tried to listen to the television upstairs to tweak the equalizer to satisfactory settings I started hearing this loud recurring ringing sound that just wouldn't go away.

3. But can't complain.This app can at times be really good at helping me hear in another room, but when I record & playback, it's MUCH harder to understand what's being said on the playback than when I was originally listening.

4. There's almost no limit to what you can hear and record between this & that appAlways clear adjustable sound, simple and direct, get exactly what you needed with this app.

5. Latency is kind of distracting and app continues running after closing leaving "Force Stop" the only option for shutting down, for me at least (Galaxy S9 [SM-G960U] Android v10).Operationally decent input booster for the 3.5 audio peripheral.

6. High pitched sounds are a problem for me & it did bring them out but the sound quality leaves much to be desired! Nothing remarkable, does what it says & will do more if you pay - but don't expect a miracle.

7. Disappointing.. but good appI love the distance you can hear, the ability to hear low noises, and the recording option.

8. Like the ability to play with the levels but wish the flexibility of isolating specific sounds or frequencies was greater—but it's a free app so expectations are to be managed accordingly.

9. Just for the record I pressed the phone against the ventilation duct as it has the best acoustics and would seem the best option available so maybe it just has a problem with metal.

10. But the WORST part is the loud screeching noise that comes through when I am just using it to listen.

11. Easy to use and easy to understand plus the sound booster and equalizer are added bonuses.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Ear Scout Issues

1. Fix Ear Scout Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Ear Scout: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Ear Scout App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Ear Scout" » Open Ear Scout: Sound Amplifier » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Ear Scout » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Ear Scout: Sound Amplifier app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Ear Scout servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Ear Scout: Sound Amplifier" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Ear Scout app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Ear Scout might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Ear Scout. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Ear Scout then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Ear Scout not working


2. Fix Ear Scout Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Ear Scout be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Ear Scout not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Ear Scout may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I leave my ear scout so recording while I'm gone today instead of there being a30-40 min recording there were several 5 min recordings how did it turn itself off and on? It's also said wait this app tried to get access to information and now it's upside down on my phone what is going on?? How do I tune out noise to hear voices better please help I'm having a hard time understanding how this app has done this
