1. With the app's USB/IP service running, you will be able to list USB devices connected to your Android device from your PC using the usbip utility.
2. With this server running, you can share many USB devices from your Android device to a PC running the USB/IP software.
3. While the service is running, it will hold a partial wakelock and Wi-Fi lock to prevent the device from sleeping or disconnecting while serving USB devices on the network.
4. This app shares USB devices from an Android device to a PC via USB/IP.
5. When you try to attach to them from your PC, the USB permission dialog will be displayed on your Android device.
6. Notably, devices that use isochronous transfers (usually video and audio capture devices) are not supported.
7. This app is compatible with Linux's USB/IP driver in the latest kernel and the current Windows USB/IP driver.
8. After you accept the permission dialog, the device will attach to your PC.
9. This app uses native Android USB host APIs, so it does not require root.
10. If you find that your device is not supported, send me an e-mail and I'll see if I can do something about it.
11. USB input devices have worked equally well on both platforms in my testing.
1. No device I've tested worked, I tested some webcams, usb sticks however my Linux Computer can't connect to it even though the list command shows that a device is connected to the android phone, this is not a client issue since I can connect perfectly fine to a exported device from my laptop, so my guess is that the app is no longer compatible with newer USPIP versions or with the devices I have tested, and I don't think this will ever get fixed.Works well despite a few stability issues.
2. Being able to automatically accept connections from approved devices would be very handy. The development seems to have stopped even though the description says "under heavy development" now it is 2021 and last update was 2016.
3. Used this to connect a remote Nikon D5500 camera via my Motorola mobile telephone across my home wireless LAN to the program Astro Photography Tool (APT) running on my Windows 10 desktop.
4. However, the last time an update was posted was nearly 5 years ago... The SourceForge project page pretty much admits that it is rapidly becoming abandonware.Project has been abandoned.
5. Worked perfectly and allowed me to execute a sequence of photographs and download them to the desktop just as if the camera was plugged directly into the PC.
6. Not bad for something that's open source version .2 beta.Works for basic functionality, but it can only be started manually and requires that you approve each connection.
7. This is not ideal for a permanent connection.App description says it is currently undergoing heavy development.
8. Used for a Logitec 3D Pro joystick to use with my Oculus Quest 2 to play SteamVR games via virtual desktop.
9. Only giving it 4 stars at this stage as the program has very little in the way of configuration or status reporting - but it did work very well.
10. Client program (to download on pc) is not even provided.
11. Had one blue screen crash after about 2 hours of use.
