Air NZ Customer Insights

1. I've I'm in Cook Islands and it's Thursday.. but my flight has allegedly departed because the app thinks it's Friday Also when flying domestic app is slow to update when checking in, meaning I'm boarding but app says I have t checked in so no boarding pass displaysSeverely let down, long wait times on the phone.

2. Also be nice if credits were easy to apply when something like the Auckland airport floods, rather than waiting 3 hours on a phone call.I want to like this app... but after getting to the airport for the 1st leg of our journey to find the flight had been cancelled, but was still showing as booked on the app, I no longer trust it.

3. As a frequent flyer I want to minimize the time it takes to see the most relevant info of my upcoming flight.

4. It was only because another earlier flight was running late and had free seats, and that we had arrived early at the airport, that we were able to connect to our international leg.

5. I note the comments about the widget being in the development list, but shouldn't have replaced the old one until the functionality was there in upgrade.Poor. Why can't you make it possible to book a stopover via the site.

6. Once you refresh (which takes forever remember) you can access your boarding pass.

7. Now it's 3 clicks away, and whilst that may not sound much, when you are stood at the front at the gate needing to scan, or having boarded and there is a line of people getting wet behind you that's a big additional delay.

8. So if you're in a later time zone it tells you your flight has departed.

9. I used to really enjoy the Air NZ watch face, and enjoyed using the watch as my boarding pass when going through the gate.

10. Best thing though, had an early flight, when we redeemed our lounge tickets - the app asked us if we wanted coffee.

11. This caused me to mix up times on the same flight on different dates.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Air NZ Issues

1. Fix Air NZ Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Air NZ: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Air NZ App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Air NZ" » Open Air NZ » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Air NZ » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Air NZ app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Air NZ servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Air NZ" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Air NZ app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Air NZ might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Air NZ. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Air NZ then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Air NZ not working


2. Fix Air NZ Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Air NZ be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Air NZ not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Air NZ may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Under GDPR, I am requesting that my NZ Air app account be deleted. I set both my account and my wife’s (Trevia Ogburn) on my app. Thus, we can see only one account. I need to set up accounts on separate apps. Please expedite since we are flying to New Zealand in late August. Thanks!
