About ArriveCAN

1. ArriveCAN still contains Advance CBSA Declaration, which allows you to answer customs and immigration questions up to 72 hours in advance of flying into Canada.

2. By submitting your customs and immigration information in advance, you will spend less time at a primary inspection kiosk (PIK) or eGate when you arrive at the airport.

3. Once your identity has been confirmed, your Advance CBSA Declaration will be retrieved from ArriveCAN for you to review and certify.

4. Use of the Advance CBSA Declaration feature of ArriveCAN is entirely optional.

5. At the border, you will be prompted to scan your travel document at a primary inspection device and confirm your identity.

6. If changes are required, you can edit and update your declaration prior to certification.

7. It is currently available to international air travellers who enter Canada at selected airports.

8. This contributes to shorter line-ups in arrivals halls.

9. This app supports English, French and Spanish (as per your device’s language settings).

ArriveCAN Customer Insights

1. Now the previously entered travellers were listed and I was able to complete.I've been crossing at the Lansdowne vehicle border crossing for years and it has even been "Required" to use the ArriveCan app... now since update, there is no ability to select land border crossing locations... so I'm assuming it's not required for land crossing anymore? The option would be nice to use it at border crossings.Entered my info which was not an issue.

2. Upon arrival you scan your passport at one of the kiosque and the only question you are asked is if there has been a change to your declaration if not then your picture is taken , copy printed and off you go.

3. So it saved no time what so ever.I like this app because is easy to complete and primarily allows me to breeze through customs upon arrival.

4. The machine scanned my passport said everything was good, but never have me no pallet out asked to accept the info I entered on the app.

5. I wondered "who" the Express lane was for and "what's in it for me" to use the app then.App unable to detect airplane mode (I.e. no connection) - as such user error can lead to a lot of wasted time.

6. The process then hanged in the save, and I was unable to backtrack so I had to kill it and restart the app, but it had saved all my info to that point and I was able to continue.

7. Other than those hiccups, it went smoothly.Easy to fill ahead of time.

8. After long long flights travellers are tired and any time saved is appreciated.

9. This would be a helpful suggestion when these all failWhen it scanned my passport, it got 1 letter in my name wrong, but easily correctable manually.

10. kept insisting I did not have Internet access, so couldn't continue, even though I clearly did as other apps on phone were happily accessing Internet.

11. Still had to go though the regular line at Montreal airport, and scan my passport.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix ArriveCAN Issues

1. Fix ArriveCAN Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart ArriveCAN: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the ArriveCAN App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "ArriveCAN" » Open ArriveCAN » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for ArriveCAN » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear ArriveCAN app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from ArriveCAN servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "ArriveCAN" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check ArriveCAN app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, ArriveCAN might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall ArriveCAN. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall ArriveCAN then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing ArriveCAN not working


2. Fix ArriveCAN Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make ArriveCAN be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to ArriveCAN not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, ArriveCAN may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Want to delete account as cannot find Verification code anywhere. So will reset new ArriveCan account after the first account is deleted.

  • I can not log in. It was particulary wery frustraiting on my last trip. At the airport at St. Lucia person charge took phone from my wife and registered me. But no matter what I ca not log in. It was adviced to me delete accaunt....and I can not do it eather. This app or settings are realy in poor order. I hope it will be in the near future removed from request. It suck all the way...sorry.

  • Please delete my ArriveCan account. Recently, my phone as compromised. This app has my passport information on it. I will not be traveling to Canada in the near future and no longer need this account.
    Failure to comply will result in a penalty/fine.

  • i have filled in all info with the ArriveCan App on my smartphone (Android Samsung S9) but when i submit, it said "Submission failed. We were unable to submit your form. Your changes have NOT been lost. Please ensure you are connected to the internet and try again. (Code PQ-400). I am very sure my internet connection is perfectly fine

    J'ai essayé de contacter le service de dynacare depuis le matin jusqu'à 22h37 mais sans aucune réponse
    J'ai pris même trois rendez-vous en ligne sur mon compte de dynacare mais sans aucune réponse pour signaler mon problème mais personne ne m'a répondu aux trois rendez-vous.

    Après une multitude d'appels au service arrivecan j'ai réussie de les rejoindre car les lignes sont occupées et ils m'ont dit d'envoyer une demande à switch Health pour m'envoyer le test au lieu de ma quarantaine et ça ce que j'ai fait maintenant je dois attendre la trousse pour que je puisse effectuer le test
    Ma question est ce que ceci va prolonger ma durée de confinement vu que ma rentrée scolaire est pour le 30 aout même ci ce n'est pas mon erreur et moi je dois assister à mes cours
    Ainsi que si la durée entre réception du kit de dépistage et envoie du kit au laboratoire et sortie de des résultats dépasse le délai de ma quarantaine est ce que le 15 -ème jour si je ne présente pas de symptômes du covid je peux faire mon test covid à la pharmacie la plus proche pour effectuer le test
