1. The codes always regenerate after a day or two and there's so much issues with the call quality and camera not working and the screen recording is so intrusive even when you press no or pause or stop Nd it shares way more info then it should and then it claims.This doesn't work on Android.

2. iOS gets a slightly better experience, but this is unusable for user testing.The recording stopped without possibility of resuming anytime my phone screen went to sleep mode or perhaps at the moment when I pushed button to wake it up.

3. It's also frustrating not to be able to have a chat function in the platform, as when these issues happen it means I have to fiddle around with email, which can often have a long delay and end up wasting most of my interview time.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Lookback Participate Issues

1. Fix Lookback Participate Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Lookback Participate: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Lookback Participate App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Lookback Participate" » Open Lookback Participate » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Lookback Participate » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Lookback Participate app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Lookback Participate servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Lookback Participate" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Lookback Participate app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Lookback Participate might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Lookback Participate. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Lookback Participate then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Lookback Participate not working

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Lookback Participate be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
