DJI Mimo Customer Insights

1. Having the videos autoplay every single time the app opens is intrusive and annoying, and the app always asks if you want to autoplay a video on mobile data whenever you open it – every single time, even when the camera is plugged in.

2. This needs to be fixed!For a first-time user, the built in tutorials are fine for a first time set-up, but PLEASE give us the option to completely disable them, or at a minimum retain the mobile data autoload setting.

3. I am very careful to press "Save and Exit" each time I exit a project and none of my files are corrupt or missing on my phone, yet my projects will randomly delete with no way to be recovered.

4. Also every time I open it it has to have the notification at the top that it found the osmo, which covers up the camera icon at the top so I have to wait for it to leave on its own before I can tap it.

5. The app should let you save pictures to your phone gallery as opposed to having to open the app to view images and videos.

6. I'm still shocked by the fact I can't save videos directly to SD card and I have to relay on my phone storage, it's just crazy that DJI does not allow you to do something so simple and so important.

7. It is missing so many basic features and easy setting controls that should be built in like changing where files are saved automatically or stopping the app from scanning every folder that has a photo or video in it.

8. I thought it was the location of the clip on my phone so tried other ways thinking it was a balancing issue but still nothing.

9. I charged and activated the device so why is there a lag between the movement of the camera and what I see on the screen of my phone.

10. Story mode is not there and the auto-play tutorial mode playing every time I open the app is mandatory and cannot be turned off.

11. However, as of writing this it is lacking the d-cinelike color profile for the camera on android, which was one of the main reasons I purchased this camera.This app is incomplete and not as advertised.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix DJI Mimo Issues

1. Fix DJI Mimo Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart DJI Mimo: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the DJI Mimo App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "DJI Mimo" » Open DJI Mimo » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for DJI Mimo » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear DJI Mimo app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from DJI Mimo servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "DJI Mimo" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check DJI Mimo app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, DJI Mimo might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall DJI Mimo. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall DJI Mimo then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing DJI Mimo not working


2. Fix DJI Mimo Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make DJI Mimo be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to DJI Mimo not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, DJI Mimo may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
