1. I've been using this app for a year and it is hands down the worst app I've ever used, especially considering it's a PAID service.Since the latest update, obnoxious full-screen ads pop up within seconds of opening each and every story, I'm forced to log in again (to my paid account) after every 4-5 stories, and the whole app crashes at least once per visit.

2. Time to fire the developer and start over.Can't highlight a particular word using my Android to search Google Dictionary to lookup the meanings for when they made the update to this app, and the advertisements are just unnecessary distractions.

3. Getting fed up with SA as a whole.App has begun forcing full screen video adds with sound on at random times when you select an article.

4. Crashes every time I try to open an alert and I then need to go back and find the article manually with the terrible search engine they use.

5. Now it is just a hot mess with duplicate notifications, blank notifications and unnecessary features that impede your ability to read local news.

6. Dismiss the pop-up and the screen goes into a continuous update wait until I stop the app.Terrible, terrible app.

7. The reporting isn't as good as it was a few years ago anyway.It's more convenient to read the news on my phone rather than toting the newspaper around.

8. For persons who are vision- impaired, they can read the newspaper on their computer and increase the print size.

9. Or not at all so I have to go back to live news and then try print replica again.

10. Time to cancel my subscription and dump the app.With each update, the app gets worse.

4. Check Honolulu Star-Advertiser app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Honolulu Star-Advertiser might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Honolulu Star-Advertiser. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Honolulu Star-Advertiser then reinstall.
