The most aggravating thing started in the last 24 hours for me which is the 'Office' theme song plays when I open articles for zero reason and no way to mute or stop it.Recently this app has had apps with sound on every page, in multiple places in the story and when you go back to the main page after reading a story.

2. I read that the setting can be changed, but the default should be set to "never" rather than "always." Even after changing automatic video ads setting to never, nothing changes.Liked this app for a long time but even with auto play video ads set to 'never', I still have ads playing.

3. Also, SLOW DOWN! I get that it's the news and stuff happens fast, but ye Gods, your feed cycle shouldn't be every 15 damned seconds.I absolutely loved this app when it came out, now I'm slowly beginning to despise it.

4. But recently in the last week when I click a headline it fails to load opens it but doesn't load the article page and I've tried everything.

5. I'm sick of reading and listening to mainstream news agendasUsed to be a good news app.

6. The suggestions from the developer do not work.Good app for news substance and outlet variety.

7. The "smart view" button is only available on about half of the articles now, and where it isn't, good luck in trying to read the article.

1. Fix SmartNews Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart SmartNews: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the SmartNews App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SmartNews" » Open SmartNews: News That Matters » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SmartNews » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear SmartNews: News That Matters app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SmartNews servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SmartNews: News That Matters" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check SmartNews app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SmartNews might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall SmartNews. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SmartNews then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SmartNews not working

2. Fix SmartNews Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SmartNews be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SmartNews not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SmartNews may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
