The Advertiser Customer Insights

1. Difficult to navigate so think I may as well cancel subscriptionWhy are articles critical of the Labor government more frequently missing the ability to comment? Is this due to the app logo changing from blue to red? The app logo should be a neutral colour.Pleae fix urgently... App no longer working and will not open since the the recent update.

2. Also articles have an annoying right wing bias so is unbalanced news service.Why does the app on my Android tablet say it has a bug and wait for the developer to fix it.

3. No scrolling or ability to read the articles after clicking the selected article.

4. I am 60 .On a positive note the Meliisa Hoyle section has finally disappeared hooray because I certainly couldn't make it go awayScroll feature is inconsistent .

5. Scroll the article to read -NOT WORKING past the initial screen.

6. Can't read the paper, if app is not functioning appropriatelyUntil a couple of weeks ago, it was great.

7. I like to scroll down, and I find the new my news section cumbersome to use I guess you cant please everyone.. Also new font is too small.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix The Advertiser Issues

1. Fix The Advertiser Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart The Advertiser: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the The Advertiser App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "The Advertiser" » Open The Advertiser » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for The Advertiser » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear The Advertiser app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from The Advertiser servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "The Advertiser" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check The Advertiser app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, The Advertiser might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall The Advertiser. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall The Advertiser then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing The Advertiser not working


2. Fix The Advertiser Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make The Advertiser be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to The Advertiser not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, The Advertiser may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
