About IamResponding (IaR)

1. This is used by thousands of fire departments, EMS agencies, and incident response entities and teams. The IamResponding. com system also includes incident notifications, duty crew scheduling, inter-agency messaging, incident mapping with directions, hydrant and water-source mapping, and much more.

2. This App is a companion feature to the IamResponding. com system, which enables first responders to know who is responding to an incident, where they are responding, and when.

3. Please Note: If your dispatch messages are not currently processed through your department’s IamResponding system, that is a free configuration that can be done in most jurisdictions, and is included with your department’s IamResponding subscription.

4. This App brings all of the primary features of the IamResponding system to mobile users in the field, in an easy-to-use and access format.

IamResponding (IaR) Customer Insights

1. I emailed tech support on a Saturday night and Sunday morning they had me back up and going again! I can't say enough about how helpful tech support was! (Brad was actually a real person that helped troubleshoot via text message) I am more than happy with the app and the people that stand behind it.App is great and the tech support over the phone is great but my vibration wont stop.

2. Also, with a recent update, not sure if Android or with IaR since both were updated, when I go in to make a change to notification tone, it is set to phone default.

3. So at 3am on my day off or when I'm trying to catch what little sleep I'm going to be getting, I get woken up by this obnoxious thing and have to go through the apps settings and check off 4 different options to turn off notifications.

4. When I get a notification my phone vibrates, just as I set up in settings, however even after unlocking my phone and opening the app the vibrating wont stop.

5. This feature was very helpful because if I miss the sound I could still see a notification in my notifications bar .

6. Again, iOS seems to be fine with making notification sound changesMapping fearure is nice to see others responding in real-time.

7. Most other apps allow you to silence notifications through their phone.

8. However, could really use a feature for turn-by-turn directions to a new call/incident if even to link to a separate app that supports it(i.e. Google Maps, Waze, etc...) [UPDATED] Found turn-by-turn option in previously obscured button due to my resolution/screen-size.

9. (also, a glitch between pages on Android)Update: Thank you for fixing the lack of pop up notifications! Since the update there No pop up notifications for Audio Alerts.

10. Edit: There is a problem with the mapping, i have found that sometimes the directions are slightly off and the use of the map is confusing.Too difficult to mute and unmute notifications.

11. So, turn on your location notification if you are having issues.Was near perfect.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix IamResponding (IaR) Issues

1. Fix IamResponding (IaR) Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart IamResponding (IaR): Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the IamResponding (IaR) App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "IamResponding (IaR)" » Open IamResponding (IaR) » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for IamResponding (IaR) » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear IamResponding (IaR) app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from IamResponding (IaR) servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "IamResponding (IaR)" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check IamResponding (IaR) app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, IamResponding (IaR) might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall IamResponding (IaR). If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall IamResponding (IaR) then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing IamResponding (IaR) not working


2. Fix IamResponding (IaR) Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make IamResponding (IaR) be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to IamResponding (IaR) not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, IamResponding (IaR) may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
