Paylocity Customer Insights

1. For example, the submit button in clocking in is up in the top right corner unlike the web, and as soon as you punch in, instead of just returning to the clock it goes to a different screen and then you have to manually go back.The app in and of itself is a great idea, but I have nonstop bugs and errors.

2. My biggest critism is having the "clock in/out" button right at the bottom of the screen where im constantly fearing I might click it when I try to leave the app.

3. Also, its just an immediate clock in; having a pop-up after clicking the "clock in/out" button that asks "are you sure? Yes/No" makes a lot of sense like how many programs do it.

4. When i try to submit it, it wont load in to my timesheet and i have to re-do it all over again 1 or 2 more times! Other than that issue, ive had no other problems and still like like this APP!This app is a nightmare! I don't understand how this company is one of the top payroll companies in the US.

5. Clock in options (in/out/lunch) are pre-set and unchangeable, and you cannot clock back in for at least half an hour if you hit 'lunch' by mistake.

6. Can click on other tasks, but as soon as you click on "Punch", you're logged out and taken back to log in screen.

7. I had to edit my review after about 2 months of using the app because of time input and constantly having to type it in 2 or 3 times.

8. Fix the bugs and optimize the app and they will have a good product.When trying to punch in or out, the app automatically logs you out and takes you back to log in screen.

9. It need serious fixing.Extremely easy to use and if there is something you need to dispute your boss/supervisor has immediate access they can go in and change or help you if you made a mistake.

10. Also, just a suggestion, how about color code what status im in for immediate feedback like green for clocked in, black for clocked out,and yellow for lunch.Just sub-par.

11. 95% of what I do with this app is clock in and out and I get errors almost every time.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Paylocity Issues

1. Fix Paylocity Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Paylocity: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Paylocity App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Paylocity" » Open Paylocity » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Paylocity » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Paylocity app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Paylocity servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Paylocity" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Paylocity app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Paylocity might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Paylocity. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Paylocity then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Paylocity not working


2. Fix Paylocity Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Paylocity be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Paylocity not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Paylocity may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
