1. Don't know if it will work though.excellent ,I was tired between my pc and my android mobile, without finding any solve for android for encoding,but this application is really super ,and did it at least ,thank you.Fast, simple, do what it designed to.How to operate your app to change the format .srt to .txt file.

2. For some reason subtitles converted to UTF -8 without BOOM work fine on handheld android plex but it does not work on android tv version of plex.

3. Finally found a working tool for android to change subtitle encoding.

4. When I converti it to UTF-8 with BOOM then it works on both versions.Simple and working.

5. One suggestion for improvement, right now it writes only UTF-8 without BOOM, could you pkease add an option for UTF-8 with BOOM.

6. Suggestion, add keywords to your description, such as utf8, etc to help others find your app.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Encoding Changer Issues

1. Fix Encoding Changer Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Encoding Changer: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Encoding Changer App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Encoding Changer" » Open Encoding Changer » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Encoding Changer » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Encoding Changer app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Encoding Changer servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Encoding Changer" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Encoding Changer app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Encoding Changer might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Encoding Changer. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Encoding Changer then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Encoding Changer not working
