About XMEye

XMEye Customer Insights

1. I am changing my rating from 4 starts to 2.It works and is easy to connect to but it want hardly do playback even with a strong internet signal, has drained a month's worth of data in three days, and sucks the battery dry.

2. can't configure cameras properly, the alarm zones cant be set through the app, substream D1 can only set at 5fps vs 25 on dvr, but cif can..The app? It's on par with its actual profuct: typical cheap Chinese-made garbage that works for 65% of what is promised.

3. Please fix.Play back is very very glitchy, a tap on the timeline will rewind 2 hours every time, as you try to get to the time you want to look at, it fights with you and resets the timeline to the the last place it tried to load an image.

4. What have you done to the PTZ controls? The controls are overly sensitive to the point of unusable, pressing any control for a millisecond causes the camera to pan/tilt uncontrollably for 20 seconds.

5. If you go from one view to the other, the app doesn't refresh the cameras and sends back connection error.

6. All cameras show as loading, but never do despite the system being fine otherwise.Very good but has some annoying quirks 1.

7. It is very difficult to select a time frame to playback other than 00:00.

8. When you do manage to get to the time you want you have yo add 2 hours or it will be the wrong time when you let go of the screen.

9. Full screen controller works OK ... but lacks zoom control.

10. When you click on "Alarm Message" it says "Executing, please wait..." but never, ever goes being that, the waiting never ends.

11. Besides this tedious process, it does what it's expected to do away from home or even under same roof.Poor, unintuitive app with very poor alarm features.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix XMEye Issues

1. Fix XMEye Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart XMEye: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the XMEye App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "XMEye" » Open XMEye » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for XMEye » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear XMEye app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from XMEye servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "XMEye" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check XMEye app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, XMEye might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall XMEye. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall XMEye then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing XMEye not working

2. Fix XMEye Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make XMEye be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to XMEye not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, XMEye may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

    I am trying to watch from the uk
    My family in India have downloaded the app and are able to connect to the camera and watch using the QR code
    However for me I have also downloaded the app and inserted the serial number by using the QR code when I click on it to watch the cameras it is saying the device is offline and no cameras load but it working for everyone in India

  • Hi,

    I hope you are doing good,
    Unfortunately, since the last update of the app, two days ago, I’ve not been able to access the phone camera devices via the app using my mobile data or either different wifis. The device only works properly with my home wifi connection. - so when viewing the app on a different network connection it states that the device may be offline. I have done thorough checks and tests to test the app on different homes devices ( various iPhones and IPad ). I have additionally contacted my mobile provider thinking it my internet itself. However, I can ensure that wasn’t the issue at all. I think the latest update may have had an issue relating to this.

  • Hi, So far the app is great, got all connected with little issue. Thanks. The only thing I'm having trouble with is the alarm notifications, when I got the first few I was able to tap and explained but now it just takes me to the live camera; is there a way to set it to expand the alarm picture? Also, is there a way to remove unwanted alarm notifications? The list just keeps getting longer. I tried searching the web but didn't find an answer.
