Irish Times News Customer Insights

1. Can be slow to open and has a really annoying problem... It cannot be viewed unless you have an active connection and if your connection drops for a split second it throws you out of the app, you then have to restart the app loosing the article you were reading..Great content.

2. Secondly, I had to stop the email briefings, reason being everytime I click on an article and it opens in chrome, I get asked to sign in with my password before I can read the full article.

3. Notifications are out of date, they reappear after being swiped away.Good service, but Imagine, in 2023 the app makes it impossible to swipe between news sections.

4. The styling constantly changes, as does the functionality (sharing breaks), depending on how you click into an article (author's page versus home page).

5. Great journalistic content otherwise. If internet momentarily drops, the screen turns black and reloads the home page when data returns.

6. Also, it is not configured to automatically open links from The Irish Times, so using Google to work around the lack of a search function brings you into your browser, not the app.Clunky and inconsistent app.

7. Very annoying mid-article when on a train.Content is great but the functionality needs work.

8. For example, unlike other news apps, you can not click on the author of a piece to find other pieces by that same author.

9. Regularly logs you out of your session without any notice, you only notice when you are prompted to sign in to read a subscriber only article.

10. When I tap a notification on a particular story, 9 times out of 10 it takes me to the main page, not the story I was interested in reading.

11. When I get push notifications, it sometimes relates to articles from the previous day, so it's hardly breaking news.
