Hanna Customer Insights

1. It's been very disappointing.Right off the bat, when trying to simply create an account, I can't submit because "our servers are having issues." A good app would have a connectivity check right in the beginning, you know, before I waste my time entering my name, email, address, phone number, password, and security questions.

2. If I could add 2 things they would be, (1) a way to browse the weekly flyer and a way to save the deals you want to look at in store and (2) I'd add something to the redeem points screen saying "can take up to 20 minutes for activation" because it's not immediate and annoying/embarrassing to be standing in line thinking you're ready to use them only to not be.I like this app.

3. the past 6 months my phone was acting up and after many times on the phone with cell provider, and trips to the cell phone provider store it was found out that the app is constantly running in the background and overriding the phones main operating system.

4. QUESTION: Can you add a function to click to add items from the flyer to your list? Thanks for all you do.Solid app and I use it all the time, but has some UI/use challenges.

5. I like being able to see the flyer, search the store and make a list, and see my rewards section BUT I'm not sure what happened with the most recent version.

6. Coupons take 12-24 hours to activate.I use the app all the time, but recently it's been locking up every time I use it.

7. Filtering coupons is a pain - I want to filter OUT things I don't want to see instead of limit the list to one category.

8. Furthermore, if I select "coupons" via my computer on the app website, it is supposed to sync with the phone app and it does not.

9. Brightness issue can be avoided by never clicking on My Hannaford Rewards button at bottom of screen - always use the top-down menu to navigate to Rewards.

10. It's easy to use, never have to think about it when shopping if you clip the digital coupons in advance, or even once a week or couple of weeks.

11. When I hit the rewards page it automatically increases my screen brightness to blinding (bar code) and I wish I could turn that off.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Hanna Issues

1. Fix Hanna Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Hanna: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Hanna App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Hanna" » Open Hannaford » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Hanna » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Hannaford app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Hanna servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Hannaford" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Hanna app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Hanna might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Hanna. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Hanna then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Hanna not working


2. Fix Hanna Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Hanna be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Hanna not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Hanna may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
