MOZA Genie Customer Insights

1. It's a shame that the app doesn't connect to the Mini-Mi on what is probably THE BEST phone for mobile cinematography.Got the MOZA-MX to use with my Pixel 3A-XL, which can do 60 FPS recording in the native camera app, but the MOZA Genie app only has 30 FPS.

2. It is absolutely absurd that the latest Galaxy Phone can't connect to the app! This is going back to Amazon tomorrow!! Extremely disappointed!! The reason I checked off not sure is I couldn't connect!Doesn't work with LG V30.

3. If I leave the Moza app and go to something else on my phone, but still have my phone on the gimbal, I have to reconnect Bluetooth to the Moza app, but other than that, I like it fine.

4. Also, having to reactivate the device with a code emailed before you can reconnect to the gimbal each time you reinstall is annoying, especially since I've had to reinstall a couple times after being unable to connect to the gimbal.

5. Also there are no new videos showing how to use the software, and because I can't connect the gimbal I can't calibrate it or update it's firmware.

6. The phone sees the Moza, but when I click on it, it won't connect.

7. It's so bad, it's prompting me to buy some other gimbal that makes sense.. and definitely not a moza this time..wish I could give it zero stars.

8. I have to take the phone out of its case even though the case will fit, it is too heavy and causes the gimbal to vibrate.

9. This doesn't have half the functionality of the previous version and its full of bugs.. it doesn't connect to Bluetooth, it's displaying upside down and more.

10. Also, using a slightly larger tripod causes the gimbal to vibrate as well.The app works as expected with the gimbal.

11. Record a high definition video and you can quickly blow out your internal cell phone memory, which opens up a whole host of new technical problems for you.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix MOZA Genie Issues

1. Fix MOZA Genie Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart MOZA Genie: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the MOZA Genie App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "MOZA Genie" » Open MOZA Genie » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for MOZA Genie » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear MOZA Genie app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from MOZA Genie servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "MOZA Genie" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check MOZA Genie app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, MOZA Genie might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall MOZA Genie. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall MOZA Genie then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing MOZA Genie not working


2. Fix MOZA Genie Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make MOZA Genie be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to MOZA Genie not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, MOZA Genie may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
