SwipeSimple Customer Insights

1. It's absurd.It's EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING when the device will not connect to our tablet!! We close out of the app over and over, and sometimes it works, many times we have to key the transaction in, which costs us more in fees! When you have a line of customers waiting to check out, this is MADDENING!! Trying to get your rep to help you is very difficult and support tries, but there is no fix or resolution.

2. Also, reader must be reconnected EVERY transaction, even when you just did a transaction 30 seconds before....VERY frustrating..looking for another card merchant provider solely based on this.The app seems to be reliable and free of errors.

3. No longer; the recent version makes you stop in the middle of EVERY transaction to have to select a hard wired card reader.

4. Biggest issue for me is no split payment option...I get customers all the time that want to pay part credit, part cash, and this app does not do it.

5. My card provider has sent me two different known good readers, and neither will read a chip on an Android, an iPhone or an Android tablet.

6. I have two other devices that are using older versions and I guess if I update the software I have to buy a new reader.***Update*** I am so happy with the updates.

7. Often times when trying to process a cash transaction the cash drawer won't open and print.

8. I can sync the reader with an identical tablet running an older version.

9. My tablet will sync with the reader but the app says no devices available.

10. You have to locate the reader within the app with every transaction which is a huge pain in the ass in a fast paced environment.

11. The app is riddled with issues such as the printer and card reader constantly disconnecting.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix SwipeSimple Issues

1. Fix SwipeSimple Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart SwipeSimple: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the SwipeSimple App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "SwipeSimple" » Open SwipeSimple » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for SwipeSimple » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear SwipeSimple app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from SwipeSimple servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "SwipeSimple" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check SwipeSimple app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, SwipeSimple might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall SwipeSimple. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall SwipeSimple then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing SwipeSimple not working


2. Fix SwipeSimple Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make SwipeSimple be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to SwipeSimple not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, SwipeSimple may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
