Global Mapper Customer Insights

1. How much does it cost to get the paid version of global mapper mobile?It is nice to access to your data on field , but I am disappointed, the app is to slow to responds and some time will crash when I update may date , it's not as good as PC's Edition even not about 10%.

2. I'm using the free version and I really love it , a mobile GIS software where I'm able to load high resolution aerial imagery, shape files, etc , packaged as global mobile mobile package files from the desktop version, then actively navigating with all the data loaded as background.

3. Many many thanks to developer.Limited bluetooth gnss devices, other apps are way more compatible, especially concerning Emlid Reach which is a fantastic affordable gnss device.While login to my BMG account, this mobile app keeps crashing again and again.

4. I am sure as more features are rolled into the app it will become better and betterI tried to open Open Street Map in Global Mapper Mobile.

5. Makes it hard to evaluate, so unless this is resolved I won't be throwing money at the Pro Version.Very nice app.It is suggested to make a pointer to locate my location and make some option for lat long view as hddmmss and hhddmm.m formate.

6. We have started to deploy in the field and it is a great way to allow people to take a full global mapper project with them.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Global Mapper Issues

1. Fix Global Mapper Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Global Mapper: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Global Mapper App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Global Mapper" » Open Global Mapper Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Global Mapper » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Global Mapper Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Global Mapper servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Global Mapper Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Global Mapper app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Global Mapper might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Global Mapper. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Global Mapper then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Global Mapper not working


2. Fix Global Mapper Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Global Mapper be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Global Mapper not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Global Mapper may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
