1. If you were a user of a PalmOS based PDA in the past, this will all be very familiar to you as the input method used by those devices was a stylus drawing Graffiti strokes in an input area at the bottom of the display.
2. After installing and enabling Graffiti, just draw a stroke up from the Graffiti input area into the main display area and the help screen appears.
3. Download Graffiti™ - The Keyboard Replacement for Android that uses the stroke-based handwriting recognition system text input system made popular by Palm™ PDAs running PalmOS™.
4. But even if you were not a Graffiti user before, you should give it a try now if you find that the on-screen keyboard doesn't suit your input style.
5. Graffiti™ is a replacement for the built-in on-screen keyboard, also called an input method.
6. Graffiti characters are mostly single-stroke drawings that closely match the usual alphabet, but are simplified to make entry faster and easier.
7. Strokes drawn in the text area will only be interpreted as letters; strokes in the numeric area will be interpreted as numbers .
8. With Graffiti, you no longer type but you draw Graffiti characters with your finger or a compatible stylus.
9. There are text and numeric input areas, improving the recognition of your input.
10. For example, the letter "A" is entered with a stroke that looks like an upside-down "V", saving time that you do not need to cross the "A" in the middle.
11. Don't know the Graffiti alphabet?
1. The writing area more than frequently locks up & refuses to close preventing access to other apps and incoming calls; also the "help screen" only shows the lower third so it is of no help.
2. Sounds like an issue primarily with the phone.I miss my Palm Pilot! Graffiti Pro works great on a Note 8 and pretty good on a Tab e too.
3. Adding thorn [Þþ], eth [Đđ], oek (oe ligature), and being able to turn the trace on/off would also be wonderful... most of this post entered with it.Absolutely indispensible for quickly entering certain special characters which are otherwise buried or unavailable on other keyboards.
4. However, I have not determined whether the following is an issue with the app or with my phone, but on my LG V60 Thinq Dual Screen (not this phone) the keyboard dissappears in the lock screen with no way to get it back or to switch to another keyboard.
5. Fantastic. It works, but... It isn't great for tablet use... I'd love to be able to reduce to 1/3 height with the shorthand help to the side, and to make it a floating pallet.
6. As a long time PARC Graffiti user it's still better than other options, but not worth learning for English language (no accented letters) new users.Absolutely luv this app.
7. The writing area will often refuse to close, blocking the accept button for incoming calls and many other things.
8. I used Graffiti Pro to write this review. It is a great app! Really fast multilingual text input (once you've learned it).
9. Older issue is inability to turn OFF accented characters, which causes deviations to PARC Graffiti.
10. (Hint: Gimmie an upgrade -- I would pay for emojis.) I also have to use Apple devices sometimes, and it sucks that I have to revert back to a keyboard.
11. Better to use the same keyboard on all than to use stylus sometimes and keyboard other times when I have to switch back-and-forth often.
