1. Great way to focus! I love that you can set allow lists for certain apps! Edit: I reached the five tree limit, and although I understand why it exists, I do wish you could plant more the longer you have had the app installed, or could buy more at a higher price.

2. I found a switch that was off for "wither the tree when forest is closed" and I turned it on but it didn't change anythingSomehow, a simple concept that's effectively just a fancy stopwatch has helped immensely with my studying, reading, writing, and productivity in general.

I can sit on my phone all day but this makes me put it down and try to focus.I've never been able to study or do my homework because of my adhd, which I get easily distracted with, but with this I'm able to focus and occasionally look at the screen to see my tree has grown, its amazing and really rewarding.

6. Still an excellent app!**so you need premium for it to actually work? Deep focus mode just mentions reminders to come back to the app nothing about it being necessary for the app to work.

8. An easy 5 stars.I love this app BUT it doesn't have landscape mode so it's a deal breaker for me.

9. Also, I'd love you to add a tick tock background sound (from a clock).

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Forest Issues

1. Fix Forest Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Forest: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Forest App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Forest" » Open Forest: Focus for Productivity » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Forest » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Forest: Focus for Productivity app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Forest servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Forest: Focus for Productivity" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Forest app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Forest might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Forest. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Forest then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Forest not working


2. Fix Forest Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Forest be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Forest not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Forest may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
