Abacus Customer Insights

1. To create a new expense, all the details are added, but displays an error saying that "Amount and place are required to create an expense", when the amount has been input and there is no field to enter a place.Not bad design or looks but doesn't react properly to links sent from emails from Abacus.

2. if you absolutely need copies of receipts for your records, then I'd suggest saving the physical copies until you have verified the photos in your accountEasy to use but says I need to update my app before it let's me attach my bank account.

3. It's dead and neglected.stupidly basic, can't even add your bank info on the app lol pretty pathetic stuff.. if you click the section for support literally nothing happens at allThe app does not do what it's intended to do.

4. There is no exit confirmation when inputting an expense, nudge android's back button and you are SOL with no drafts or anything saving unsubmitted expenses.

5. I can't even type the dollar value of my expense because the digits are buggily displayed backwards and extra zeros are added on strange places.

6. Theyremove all access so funds stay stuck.BE AWARE: you'll take pictures of receipts using this app that say are uploaded but you will never see in your account.

7. The support button does not work either.

8. Would love the ability to add cards/bank/ even a sign up option on app fresh install instead of just sign in.Pretty buggy for an app this simple.

9. It keeps saying there is a bug, and to check if the developers have provided an update.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Abacus Issues

1. Fix Abacus Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Abacus: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Abacus App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Abacus" » Open Abacus » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Abacus » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Abacus app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Abacus servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Abacus" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Abacus app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Abacus might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Abacus. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Abacus then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Abacus not working


2. Fix Abacus Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Abacus be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Abacus not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Abacus may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
