1. The only reason to have this app is it's more convenient than having to discover the RAVpower IP and manually type it in a browser; this app does do a good job of finding the device from either side of the network.Took awhile to figure how it works.
2. The good news for Rav file hub owners is that you can connect directly to the file hub via a browser (10.10.10.254), and have the same user experience without the data leakage and privacy violation. If you have the RAV Power File Hub, you have to have this App.. It's Free and Easy to use although you have to take some time to use the app and Hub easily, it's no different than any other Software Etc.
3. After disabling Lookout from running as a device admin applicaton & stopping the service, I was able to connect immediately through the RAV FileHub app as well as the Web interface at 10.10.10.254. You might not have Lookout but another security app might be causing a similar problem too.
4. Copying files over from the FileHub is fairly quick, and being able to check on the status of my SD card backup is a useful feature.
5. These aren't necessary for a device which simply backs up photos from an SD card to an external drive.
6. English is poor, and it's missing basic options it really should have (like reconnect wifi or just reboot without having to change something first).
7. I have a 2TB external drive attached and it has hecome my main drive now between all the family tablets, phones etc.
8. Always available when I come home! Great tool!**Solution!** It may not work for you but I finally was able to track down why this app was not connecting.
9. However, I would appreciate if it switched to landscape mode on my tablet automatically without having to use a rotation control app. This has so much potential but a bad app is always bad news.
10. It's awkward, and ridiculously huge for what it does (seriously guys, there's no excuse for this to take up 20MB, nevermind 147MB).
11. Once I figured that out (which took hours), the app works fine.
