GitJournal Customer Insights

1. GitJournal also doesn't want to recognize FairEmail as an email client, so I can't submit bug reportsExactly what I want: a notes app that uses simple markdown and saves in regular markdown files, doesn't rely on proprietary storage, has keyword search, and and is simple to use.

2. A free way to auto sync your markdown notes from multiple devices, but with mobile first built in mind using Git.

3. ---------- Also, I suggest you put the generated public key in a file in the repo so that it's possible to revoke the app from github but easy to restore the "deploy key" so it still works.

4. I know development is expensive, but adding the monthly subscription back would be a nice way to support you without breaking the bank!Fantastic app for syncing notes to a GitHub repo.

5. Works great! You can also pull down the repo on your computer, commit and push changes to your notes, and the app automatically syncs those changes.

6. I'm loving it! I noticed that not much development has happened over the past few months, I hope that this project picks up! Also, GitHub has stopped accepting ssh-rsa keys and have moved to ed25519, I hope that the developer fixes the auto key-generation method.

7. From recent update, editor and sorting options are added! More and more convenient and useful, yet keeping it very simple! Great application! Clean and simple, really good.

8. I am writing this comment using the same keyboard and I only see autocomplete suggestions at the bottom, not the whole keyboard taking up all the screen. There's a bug that can happen when you have external storage issues, Android 13.

9. ---------- My main problem though is that while it's okay with tiny notes, if you put something big into the repository (such as a manual you need to read) it gets very, very sluggish.

10. As a single file there were delays of around ten seconds, for all sorts of operations, including rotation! When I split it into the "books" and put them into individual files in a subfolder it was even worse.

11. All the files are standard markdown documents making them easy to edit in Vim on my desktop computer.
