1. Charging for features that used to be free is a good way to drive them to other apps, but kudos to Xodo for reversing course.2023/02/18 - The latest version is far less efficient than the old 5.0.22 version! E.g. When set to use a horizontal scroll bar that one can access easily with one thumb, Xodo now does not display thumbnails of the pages you're scrolling over, but have not selected yet.

2. It's so easy to use, supports desktop, phone and tablet modes well on Android and has lots of features (various pen styles, text selection and moving, etc) that have been super helpful.

3. Edit: it says it uploaded but there is no visible chance on the Google drive.I've tried several (free and paid) apps for my notebook annotation and none have worked well as Xodo.

4. If you conduct a text search and go to a hit in View mode, and then switch to Annotate mode to highlight, you lose the text search hits, and you have to conduct the search all over again.

5. Hyperlinks between pages would be nice, if not already a paid feature.It makes editing documents on the go possible but the subscription plan is a pure money grab.

6. One thing I would like to see in the free version is the ability to nest bookmarks in subfolders (e.g., the chapters in each book of the Bible).

7. Very good cloud syncing featureIt's a good app and does everything I want on the free version.

8. Love the ability to crop pages ... a lot of my PDFs have hunge margins and with the manual crop, I can adjust to fit my needs.

9. Additionally, I use Xodo for modifying forms and information documents.Actually useable! Smart and useful functionality that makes sense.

10. Use adobe acrobat instead, the best part is its free with no ads!Back to 4 stars since they restored the ability to have more than 3 tabs open at once without a subscription.

11. I use it with my Digital Passion Planner and it's been a game-changer.I am very happy with Xodo.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix PDF File Editor & Reader Issues

1. Fix PDF File Editor & Reader Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart PDF File Editor & Reader: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the PDF File Editor & Reader App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "PDF File Editor & Reader" » Open PDF File Editor & Reader: Xodo » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for PDF File Editor & Reader » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear PDF File Editor & Reader: Xodo app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from PDF File Editor & Reader servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "PDF File Editor & Reader: Xodo" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check PDF File Editor & Reader app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, PDF File Editor & Reader might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall PDF File Editor & Reader. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall PDF File Editor & Reader then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing PDF File Editor & Reader not working


2. Fix PDF File Editor & Reader Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make PDF File Editor & Reader be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to PDF File Editor & Reader not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, PDF File Editor & Reader may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • Greetings and sorry for the grievance.

    I work as a teacher, I have been an user of XODO since 2012, the fact that it allowed me to handwrite over pdf files, made it really useful when i am teaching, also the "text box" tool, to write small notes. As soon as i discovered there was a "paid" version i rushed to buy it because i am pleased with the overall of the app.
    Lately the TEXT BOX tool is nothing but problems, on a BLANK PAGE I create a Text box and some sentences i need to write twice, so i tried the CTRL+C - CTRL+V instead of making a copy of THAT sentence it duplicates the whole text box, so is a nuisance but, if use the mouse to "copy" it does it's job, not ideal but I can stand it.

    The one thing i can't, and WON'T accept is that the inside the text box the space between lines is SINGLE, yet when i come out of the text box it gets displayed as a DOUBLE SPACE, sometimes is FOUR TIMES the space between lines making it impossible to make decent notes. is not working anymore for me, so either:
    1 - revert it to single spaces
    2 - add a tool where we can choose the space between lines
    3 - Let me cancel my subscription
    It is a wonderful app but as i write this i wonder why do i have to pay for an app that does not behave as i want ANYMORE.
