Telstra Air Customer Insights

1. This scenario leaves you without data since being on WiFi the phone tries to use that over mobile data, but nothing loads since youre not actually logged in due to "low signal.". This scenario plays out far more often than Telstra Air actually working properly, and is very annoying as if you stray into a hotspot zone, you just lose data access.

2. Looking at the map, there does not appear to be many hot spots anyway so I will likely uninstall this app soon.Installed this and tried to use it on many ocassions, especially when i ran out of data but it seemed like i needed data to connect onto this.

3. Even with the auto login turned off if it even gets a sniff of a hotspot, say drive by one, it will try and connect and then block all attempts of other wifi at home to connect until the phones wifi is turned off and on.

4. Much easier.Too often WiFi will connect to a Telstra Air hotspot, but wont log in properly saying signal too low.

5. I will be switching providers soon.I'm in range of a Telstra Air access point which I can connect to manually (it then insists on me logging in) but the app just says that I'm out of range.

6. Also tried it overseas(paris and London) I needed to turn on data which got charged for them it kept going around in circles with log on! Ended up buying a SIM for the countries we visited.

7. It will pick up hot spots, but not connect until I enter credentials, which aren't recognised even though they are the correct credentials.

8. Uninstalling.Twice I got a message after entering all the required data saying We experienced some technical issues... Then I had to repeat the process.

9. And then it's fine! No other app does this.I can not connect on mobile or laptop.

10. Not really sure what the point of this app is if it can't automate connecting to Air in even slightly adverse conditions.Can never connect.

11. On the rare occasions I am in range it says the hotspot is full, every time.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Telstra Air Issues

1. Fix Telstra Air Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Telstra Air: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Telstra Air App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Telstra Air" » Open Telstra Air » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Telstra Air » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Telstra Air app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Telstra Air servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Telstra Air" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Telstra Air app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Telstra Air might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Telstra Air. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Telstra Air then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Telstra Air not working


2. Fix Telstra Air Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Telstra Air be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Telstra Air not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Telstra Air may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
