I offset this quirk by muting the string and allowing silence for a few seconds then trying again but sometimes it takes a few tries for the app to register the actual Hz of the string that is being tuned.Well, not to say my mandolin is perfect, but I gotta give this tuner a 1/5 due to popping one string, and once "tuned" it almost sounded worse than when I started.
