1. Privacy Browser currently uses Androidโs built-in WebView to render web pages.
2. In contrast, privacy sensitive features are disabled by default in Privacy Browser.
3. Websites and ad networks use technologies like JavaScript, cookies, DOM storage, user agents, and many other things to uniquely identify each user and track them between visits and across the web.
4. Most browsers silently give websites massive amounts of information that allows them to track you and compromise your privacy.
5. Privacy Browser has two primary goals. 1.
6. If one of these technologies is required for a website to function correctly, the user may choose to turn it on for just that visit.
7. Or, they can use domain settings to automatically turn on certain features when entering a specific website and turn them off again when leaving.
8. The only way to prevent data from being abused is to prevent it from being collected in the first place.
9. Minimize the data that is sent to the internet. 2.
10. Minimize the data that is stored on the device.
11. As such, it works best when the latest version of WebView is installed (see ). In the 4. x series, Privacy Browser will switch to a forked version of Androidโs WebView called Privacy WebView that will allow for advanced privacy features.
1. Privacy is good with lots of options to take or leave, and it handles bookmarks via a sidebar which allows easy access to them, how it should be done - other popular browsers take note! Happy to support.Overall a good browser for my needs.
2. Most of the other so called privacy browser are just light copies of Chrome and don't have an option to clear your data automatically.Wow what a unique browser you can neutralize anysite like Google to stay behind while you surf with confidence.
3. Keep up the good work. All the features I expect from a browser to protect my privacy as much as possible.
4. Navigating is tricky (sometimes difficult) because Escape, which I'm used to using to move back a level, dumps one out of the browser, whereas the center button (android) pops out but leaves websites open.
5. I've set my default to Duck Duck Go, but don't want ads.Excellent browser, fast, easy to use, no ads, allows fine control over cookies, trackers and so on.
6. I hope updates aren't rare thank you Dev ๐ Suggestions- app icon very outdated a new sharp look wouldbe nice.Great browser.
7. Thanks and keep up the good work Soren.Used to have the free version from F-Droid but decided to buy here just to support the developer.
8. It grew too much, with the last couple of releases.๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ After evaluating several browsers, this is the first one that has two things I was looking for: a decent forced dark theme AND clear all data on tab closing and on exit.
9. Which is a huge need these days (that other browser devs are ignoring) if you have any concern over your privacy.
10. Great work! Thanks!Tried the free version and was happy so bought the full version.
11. The only browser on Android I know of that makes it easy to control JavaScript, cookie and DOM permissions per site without a big hassle.
